Hello, I'm Charlotte
I’m a project manager. I’m a parent. I’m an expat living in London, United Kingdom.
Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
Origins
Moving to United Kingdom wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many relocation stories for expats, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much bigger.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and fresh expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built TelKetCivFen
Most online information was either relocation advice at a corporate level or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real-life experiences in United Kingdom.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experiences from living in United Kingdom
- Centered on family life and everyday realities
- Updated whenever something genuinely changes
This site ISN'T:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in United Kingdom goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue to document what we learn.
If you have questions about family life in London or anywhere in United Kingdom, please get in touch.
Cheers,
Charlotte
